Chief minister Tarun Gogoi came down heavily on Union Finance minister for alleged curtailment of central funds. Gogoi blamed it all on Jaitley saying why he accepted the new finance commission which suggested the centre to curtail central share. He further blamed Narenra Modi for the impendng financial crisis. Amid blamegame over the SAF games, chief minister Tarun Gogoi dared union sports minister Sarbananda Sonowal to help him hold the international event in Assam. Addressing the annivesary rally in Guwahati on Sunday, Gogoi said that he is prepared to host the event provided he receives adequate fund from the centre.
