Gautom Roy and Siddique Ahmed took oath a new cabinet ministers on Tuesday. Governor PB Acharya administered the duo the oath of office and secrecy at a brief function at the Raj Bhawan in the morning. Chief minister Tarun Gogoi along with his cabinet colleagues, APCC leaders and parliamentary secretaries attended the function. Gogoi sacked both of them last year.

Chief minister Tarun Gogoi had a narrow escape on Thursday when the chopper carrying him to Tihu had an emergency landing at Borjhar air port.Gogfoi, who left fot Tihu at 11-30 to attend the mega food park opening ceremony at a chopper suddenly caught in a technical snag 7 minutes after it took off.Then the chopper landed back at the airport safely forcing the authorities to arrange another chopper for the chief minister to visit Tihu at 12-30 in the afternoon.

Belying all uncertainties, the state secondary education board is preparing to announce the results of the HSLC and AHM examinations on June 2. Sources told Assam Times the results would be available in district headquarters at 11 in the morning. These would be available in the official website from 11 in the morning. Notably, education minister Sarat Barbakatoky earlier made a faux pas that the SEBA would announce the results on May 5 to be contradicted by SEBA chairperson that the results would be available only by June 2.
  Assam police have gathered evidence that arms for the northeastern region come from Myanmar. According to DGP Khagen Sarma, the sea routes are no longer valid for the north east militants to smuggle arms. They have their criminals network for arms smuggling. Initially smuggled arms are from Myanmar come to Assam and other north eastern states via Bangladesh.
