What ails BTAD goanburahs
Gaonburahs from Chirang and Kokrajhar staged dharna on Tuesday demanding appointment of gaonburahs in the districts in front of DC office in Kokrajhar.
The dharna was organised by All BTAD Gaonburah Association where they shouted slogans with demanding of early appointment of govt Gaonburahs inctge districts of Kokrajhar and Chirang.
They alleged that govt has not been initiated to appoint Gaonburahs to facilitate peoples welfare in the village levels.
There are over 1208 Gaonburahs from Chirang and Kokrajhar districts, who are yet to get govt appointment as other districts are enjoying govt facilities.
Dhananjay Brahma, president of the association told that they had been demanding govt appointment, yet no response was reached to the association, of which why Gaonburahs are facing severe hardships in their maintaining of villages.

The Mwihur International Theatre Festival has ended in Kokrajhar, Bodoland Territorial Region (BTR).
The seven-day festival took place at the Bodofa Cultural Complex, Chandamari. Thirteen plays were performed by renowned artists from around the world, in various languages including Bodo, Assamese, Nepali, Hindi, Sinhala, and Malayalam. The festival was organized by the Lwrgi Theatre Group and supported by the BTR government.

Security forces apprehend a NDFB(S) cadre from Basabil area under Gossaigaon PS on Sunday in Kokrajhar district.
