Prohibitory orders will remain in force around two examination centres on June 28 to ensure the fair and smooth conduct of the Special Assam TET-2026.

Section 163 imposed for Special TET in Kokrajhar

The Kokrajhar district administration has imposed prohibitory orders under Section 163 of the Bharatiya Nagarik Suraksha Sanhita (BNSS), 2023, ahead of the Special Assam Teacher Eligibility Test (Special TET)-2026 scheduled to be held on June 28.

District Magistrate Pankaj Chakravarty issued the order to prevent any disturbance to public peace and ensure the smooth, fair and transparent conduct of the examination.

The restrictions will apply within a 100-metre radius of the two examination centres—Kokrajhar University and Kokrajhar Girls' Higher Secondary School.

Under the order, the assembly of three or more persons, except candidates and authorised personnel, has been prohibited near the examination venues. Unauthorised entry into the centres has also been barred.

Candidates and the public have been prohibited from carrying electronic devices such as mobile phones, smart watches, Bluetooth devices, microphones and other communication gadgets into the examination premises. Carrying weapons or suspicious objects has also been banned.

The order further prohibits illegal parking, obstruction of traffic, the use of loudspeakers or high-decibel sound systems, and the setting up of food stalls or shops within 100 metres of the examination centres. Action will also be taken against anyone found assisting candidates through unfair means.

The prohibitory order has come into immediate effect and will remain in force until the completion of the examination. Violators will face action under Section 189 of the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita (BNS) and the Assam Public Examination (Measures for Prevention of Unfair Means in Recruitment) Act, 2024.

The district administration has appealed to the public to cooperate with the restrictions to facilitate the peaceful conduct of the Special TET examination.
