NDFB-P unhappy with peace process

The NDFB(P) is quite unhappy with the slow pace of peace process even seven years after the outfit struck a deal with the government. The pro talk militant outfit is further worried over the stepped up activities by NDFB-S, KLO and Jehadis. 

The NDFB-P made the observations when they celebrated the outfit’s 29th foundation day centrally at Serfanguri designated camp in Kokrajhar on Saturday. NDFB president Dhiren Boro hoisted the flag in presence of the central leaders and took guard of honour from his cadres.

General secretary Govindo Basumatary said that the outfit took up arms for the cause of Bodo nation on this day in 1986 and struck ceasefire deal with the government in 2005 for the solution of Bodoland issues. He told that peace talk is going on and yet the government has not been sincere to solve the issue. He slammed the NDA government at the Centre for failing to implement their poll promises. 

DHD chairman Dilip Nunisa, who attended the programme said that the government has done precious little to solve the problem of militancy. BTC MCLAs Jyotirindra Brahma, Jiran Basumatary and leaders from various organizations attended the function.

The ruling BPF has retained in BTAD with winning of 20 seats for consecutive third times to the 40 member council Assembly.Various organisation from different communities in the region felicitated BPF President Hagrama Mohilary and newly elected members at a programme of victorious celebrations held at Bodofa cultural complex today in Kokrajhar.The BPF won 20, PCDR 7, AIUDF 4, BJP 1 and others 8 in the council.Mohilary addressing the celebration said that his party is getting to form council house with support from two independents from Chirang and Baksa district who are extending support to BPF party. The ruling BPF again steps to form the council winning 20 seats in the 40 member assembly. BPF president retained his Debargaon seat defeating PCDR candidate Buddodev Mushahary at a margin of around 3000. PCDR won 7 seats, AIUDF 3, BJP 1 and others 9. Mohilary said that BPF will form the council with support from independents.
BPF candidate from Banargaon constituency Rajiv Brahma won defeating nearest contestant Rabiram Narzary of PCDR by around 3414votes in Kokrajhar district. Brahma got 15,161 votes while Narzary got 11,747 votes, Manoj Kumar Brahma of Bjp got 10,252 votes. 
The PCDR, a conglomeration of various communities organisations including BPPF, UDPF, AAGSU, ABSU has leading in 17 constituencies to the 40 seats Assembly in the four districts. The ruling BPF has leading in 14 seats so far sources available from election office. BPF president Hagrama Mohilary expressed his confident that his party is getting 25-30 seats and party is going to form next council with largest majority. He said that his party has optimistic of winning single, largest seat.  
Counting to the 40 member the BTC council election going on starting from 8 am this morning amidth tight security in the four districts.In Kokrajhar,the counting halls were arranged in  three sub-divisions at Kokrajhar,Gossaigaon and Parbatjhora in a vigil security.Expected that final declaration of the results to the council would be announced by 6 pm.
