Calf rally in Kokrajhar

An awareness meeting on artificial insemination and calf rally, organised by ICDP, BTC in association with Veterinary officer, key village centre, Kokrajhar was held at Balajan near Bodoland University in Kokrajhar today. 

BTC executive member for Veterinary and Animal Husbandary department Shyam Sundi inaugurated the rally graced as chief guest. 

Sundi inspected the calf and interacted with owners of the calf about care taking of the animals. 

He said that BTC administration was working to make diseases free situation of the animals. 

'Farmers should step to devote dedication while taking care of animals and stress to earn livelihood among society', Sundi said. 

He has expressed his confidence that animal husbandry can extend economy sustainable to the common citizens.

Rahila Brahma, Secretory BTC, Dr Dilip Bhuyan, BTC CHD were prominent attendies in the programme.

Principal ousted

Normal classes have resumed once again  in Saint John's Higher Secondary School, Barama of Baksa district after principal Father Raimon was ousted from the school following teachers strike on Thursday. The teachers alleged that Raimon has been functioning the school on his autocratic style and policy while keeping aside school authority and local publics. A meeting with teachers staff would be organised in the school to discuss about the prevailing situation of school management where Bishop of Bongaigaon Diocese Father Thomas Phulopplil will grace on September 14. Protest against principal

Students of the Saint John's Higher Secondary (HS) School in Barama of Baksa district have been bearing the brunt of teachers strike for the last two days alleging the autocratic style of functioning by Father Raimon, principal of the school. The teachers alleged that Raimon has been running the school on his own decision and policy since last two years.

NDFB-S rebels arrested, ammunition recovered

Two  senior NDFB-S rebels, were arrested from two separate places in Chirang district on Wednesday. Talking to Assam Times at Kajalgaon in Chirang on Wednesday, BTAD IGP Dr. LR Bishnoi told that a search operation was conducted in the morning around 5am to 9 am where Biron Narzary alias N  Bapeibai, 29, was arrested from Patabari jungle area under Amguri police station. Son kills father in Kokrajhar

In a shocking incident that a person killed his own father following family quarrel at Titaguri Bhawanipur under Kokrajhar police station late last night which created a shocking situation among villagers in Kokrajhar district.According to source, one Milonji Basumatary (30) killed his own father identified as Grebial Basumatary (60) following a family quarrel at around 7.30 pm late last night at his resident at Titaguri Bhawanipur under Kokrajhar police station.Milonji hit his father with a piece of log and Grebial died on the spot. Later, Milonji absconded from the spot.A police team from Kokrajhar police station rushed the spot and recovered body from the house.
