The 13th biennial conference of the All Assam Govt Driver & Handyman Association concluded after a three-day long programme here at Science College complex on Sunday in Kokrajhar.
BTC deputy chief guest Kampa Borgoyary graced the open session as chief guest on the concluding day. Borgoyary, in his speech said that BTC administration was trying to meet up problem and issues of the association.
Kiran Buragohain, president of the association has criticized the govt for not initiating any step to solve demand and issues of the association. He demanded early hike of salaries, proper facilities of the association member and families, who are engaged in govt as driver and handymen.
Over 600 delegates from across the districts of Assam and northeastern states like Nagaland, Manipur, Aranachal, Mizaram, Meghalaya and Sikkim participated in the session.
A new executive committee of the association was formed with Paresh Kalita as president and Islam Borbora as general secretary along with 21 executive members.
Madhav Prasad Sarma, deputy commissioner, Kokrajhar, Daneswar Goyary,BTC executive member were prominent attendees among others in the meeting.
