BP unified with BPF

In a well gesture of party strength of BPF ahead assembly election in Bodoland region of Assam, a grand unification of BPPF with BPF under the leadership of Rabiram Narzary, president of BPPF was held on SUnday at Tulungapuri Dotma if Lower Assam's Kokrajhar district. 

Narzary, was accompanied party general secretary and thousands of party activists and supporters, declared party's unified with BPF to create more development and unity among society in the region.  He said that his party come into unified to meet healthy and integrated through working of peace and prosperity. 

Hagrama Mohilary, BPF supremo and BTC chief, party MP, MLA, senior party leaders were also present on the unification function. 

It is to be noted that both Narzary and Mohilary factionised in BPPF and BPF party in 2005 after signing historical Bodo Accord in 2003. 

Mohilary has welcome Rabiram Narzary and party members in the meeting said that now his party become a grand unified. He also said that his party will score good result in the assembly election

Magisterial inquiry into alleged gang-rape

The Kokrajhar district administration has ordered magisterial inquiry into the alleged gang-rape of a seven month pregnant woman by two armymen belonging to 10 Bihar Regiment at Gwjwnpara village under Kachugaon police station in Gossaigaon subdivision of Kokrajhar district Sunday late night.Addressing to the Reporters at DC conference hall today, Madhav Prasad Sarma,Kokrajhar Deputy Commissioner said a magisterial inquiry order has been given to investigate the gang-rape case filed by a pregnant woman. Howls of protest against gangrape

The rape incident runs into a hail of protest across Kokrajhar district on Tuesday. The All Bodo Women Welfare Federation staged two-hour sit in demonstration in protest against gang raped of a 19 - years - old woman in Kochugaon allegedly by two army jawans in the wee hours. Hundreds of women activist and local residents joined the demonstration with banner, placard and festoons in front of DC office demanding early arrest of the culprits. ABWWF president Mithinga Basumatary condemned the gang raped by army jawans and demanded stern action  against the rapists.  

Kokrajhar bandh on Wednesday

Stunned by the incident of rape by army jawans, ABSU has given a 24 hour ultimatum to the authorities to arrest the culprits involved in the shocking incident.The student body further announced 12 kokrajhar bandh on Wednesday demanding a thorough proper into the incident where two army jawans raped a pregnant woman at Kochugaon in Gossaigaon subdivision on Tuesday wee hours.The United Peoples’ Front(UPP) has also demanded Judicial inquiry into the incident.     

Pregnant woman raped in Kokrajhar

Yet another rape case in BTAD sends shock and anger across the state. The victim is a 19-year-old pregnant lady who was repeatedly raped by two army jawans on Tuesday.The shocking incident took place at Kochugaon area in Gossaigaon sub division where two jawans of 10th Bihar regiment at Taisouguri Gwjwnpara village raped the woman after taking away into a nearby school.According to the victim, a team of army jawans along with a policeman came to their home around 10 pm looking for her husband and carried out a search operation in the rooms but returned soon after carrying out the raid. She said that around 1. 30 in the wee hours, the two accused jawans returned and asked her to...

Seminar on smaller states perspectives

 Speakers at a seminar in New Delhi on Tuesday stressed the pressing need for creation of smaller states in the country. Jointly organized by ABSU, BGP, JACAS, KSDC, IPFT and PJACBM, the speakers in the seminar are expected to dwelt at length the development strategy in the small states.  ABSU president Promod Boro, told reporters that the seminar would  highlight the ways and means to press the centre to take step on creation of smaller state.

Kokrajhar sets child death record

Once again Kokrajhar hits headlines for wrong and shocking reasons. Free medical camp to students

Though the days showing high mercury across the state and summer session, a free medical and health check up camp was organized on Saturday to facilitate medical facility to school students and rural peoples at Bhotgaon High School in Kokrajhar.It was organized by the 129 Battalion CRPF Bhotgaon where hundreds of publics from various villages in the area attended the camp and took health check up. Doctors from CRPF’s and Kokrajhar RNB Civil Hospital served the camp and facilitate medical checkup camp.A larger number of school students have been also checked up their health.
