Poll campaigns get momentum
With just few days left to the scheduled assembly elections on April 4 and 11 next, campaigning from different parties for their candidates saw more gathered momentum among common voters in the region.
Former minister, sitting MLA and BPF candidate for 31-Sidli LAC Chandan Brahma campaigned in support of his candidature at Simlaguri, Laltari area on Saturday along with alliance partnar AGP MLA Pani Bhusan Choudhury in Kokrajhar district.
Brahma has claimed that he and his party is winning in all 13 contesting seats in the region and government would be formed by BPF, AGP and BJP, no doubt. He said that his party was working for all round development of the common publics.
Choudhury, in his election addressed said that the alliance party is winning in large number of seats across the state.
While, UPP candidate for Kokrajhar east Pratibha Brahma hold her election campaign here at Duramari area . She said that irrespective of caste, creed and languages are supporting the party, so her winning is clear from the respected Kokrajhar east LAC. She has appealed to all sections of communities to vote in support of her to meet good governance and healthy society in days to coming.

The 7th edition of the northeast Butterfly meet was concluded at Raimona National Park in Kokrajhar district on Wednesday. Bodoland Territorial Region (BTR) Executive Member for Forest & Environment Ranjit Basumatary inaugurated the event at Kachugaon.

Professor Indira Boro, head of the department of Bodo for Bodoland University, has been named for an award from the Sahitya Akademy for translation in Bodo language.
Dr. Boro has been named for the translation of her book Hirimba (originally written in Assamese by Jayanti Gogoi)

The arrested persons were identified as Hasanur Rahman, Mithun Miya of Mankachar and Mukesh Kumar of Bihar.

BPF chief Hagrama Mohilary was granted bail on Saturday and released against case CR 34/2020, accused of section 120-B/500 IPC from CJM court in Kokrajhar.
Pramod Boro, the president of the United People’s Party of Luwahati, filed a complaint against Mohilary, the former chief of Bodoland Territorial Council, at the court of CJM Kokrajhar for making derogatory remarks about him in February 2020.
The bail was granted by Kokrajhar's chief judicial magistrate.
