Acharya Shri Mahashraman eyes peace and unity

Shantidoot Acharya Shri Mahashraman, chief of Jainism has clarion called of peace and unity among society is the only to keep sustainable of development and people’s welfare in the world.

Acharya Shri Mahashraman, who has footstepped along with his followers and sadhus in Kokrajhar, heart administration of Bodoland Territorial Council (BTC) in lower Assam, on his part of ‘Ahinsa Yatra’ to spread  peace messages among humans in the world. Acharya stepped in Assam for the first time ever in its Jainism on March 24 through Srirampur of Kokrajhar district after entering West Bengal. Acharya said that building of peace and unity is the prime aim of the Ahinsa Yatra. Peoples’ should keep alive of peace and integrity among human society,Acharya said.  

The Assam State Mahashraman Swagat Samaroh has organized a grand occasion to make warm welcome to Guruji and his followers at Rashmela ground in Kokrajhar on Tuesday where over five thousand devotees and well-wishers’ thronged the occasion from various state and host Assam and worshipped to Guruji on his foot step in Assam,which was started from Rajasthan, organized by  Jain Sethamber Teraponthi Samiti.

Kampa Borgoyary,Deputy chief of BTC graced the occasion as chief guest and praised his holy step in Bodoland region through which ray of peace among society would be explored. Borgoyary, on behalf of BTC administration expressed solidarity and thanked to all organizers to making a grand occasion to build a healthy integration and peace in the region among various communities.

 A prayer session and cultural presentation was also presented on the occasion.Acharya said that he and his followers has been organizing Ahinsa Yatra to make healthy peace and integration among human society in the world. The Ahinsa Yatra team has so far completed 15,000 kilometer walking beginning from Rajasthan via Red Port of New Delhi.

Sanju Badani, Priyanka Nahata,devotees and organiser of the occasion said, ‘We are very fortunate to give warm welcome to Acharjya Mahashraman in Kokrajhar of BTC on his part of Ahinsa Yatra,heading to Assam state and several states of Northeastern India. It is a Yatra to creating peace and harmony among humanity across the world, so Guruji has been travelling to spread messages of peace and integrity.It is the first time travelling in Assam state from Jainism Guruji in its religious, which has been keeping believers on bond of love and affection among human living. Let, it be brought of peace and unity in the region through the footsteps of Guruji in BTC area, besides getting  a healthy living and fulfillment of spiritual integrated,they said.

Bimal Nahata,president and Dilip Sethia, secretary of Assam State Mahashraman Swagat Samaroh  told that we have got opportunity to offer worship of Guruji in our native place in BTC of Assam state during his Ahinsa Yatra mission. It is our lucky enough to organize a grand occasion on the auspicious presence of huge thronged of devotees from various states of the country and host Assam. This is a mission of building peace and integration across the world.

‘The yatra,which has been stressing to building peace as well welfare among various communities in the world would be encouraged to gain more integration in days to coming in the region’,the organisers said.

Python rescued

A Python was rescued at a pond of Malay Barman of Ward No.10 today in Kokrajhar town.  According to local residents, the python was noticed at a pond of Malay Barman this morning and later rescued by Nipon Debnath, snakes expert. The python would be 15 feets length and weight of 20 kgs.

UPPL annual conference from Jan 27

Wild elephants kill 2

Two persons trampled to death by wild elephants at Pub Gowamari early this morning in Baksa district on Sunday.  According to villagers, a herd of wild elephant come out from the nearby jungle along Indo-Bhutan border area at Pub Gowamari in Baksa where two persons were trampled, besides some houses as well properties vandalized. The deceased were identified as Uma Barman and Siddiki Barman of Pub Mowamari.  The wild elephants visits to the human habited area in search of foods, said a villager.

Four ultras arrested

Security forces arrested four persons including a KLO cadre from greater Salakati area on Saturday morning in Kokrajhar district. Security forces belonging to police and army conducted a search operation having an input about presence of movement of KLO cadre along Bhatipara Kaoniabasha under Salakati police outpost and able to arrest a KLO cadre and three linkmen.They were identified as Biswajit Roy,KLO cadre; Panindra Roy,Ganak Sarkar and Pulu Roy.A country made riffle laong two live bullet and two pipes were recovered from them.

Bodo singer Dwikhrong Khunggur Basumatary no more

Noted Bodo revolutionary singer and song composer Dwikhrong Khunggur Basumatary passses away suffereing from throat cancer at his Goybari village near Dotma in Kokrajhar district  on Saturday morning. All Bodo Students Union, different organisations, well wishers paid last respect to Dwikhrong at Bodofa House, Dularai Bodo Harimu Afad offices in Kokrajhar and rituals performed at Goybari village. BTAD bandh affected normal life

The All Bodo Students Union (ABSU), National Democratic Front of Boroland (P) and People Joint Action Committee for Boroland Movement (PJACBM) observed Maha Satyagraha at Jantar Mantar in New Delhi on Wednesday, demanded early solution to the long standing demand of Bodoland State and Political Right to the Bodos living outside the proposed Bodoland area. NTPC Salakati plant to be operatiional soon

The Unit II of the Bongaigaon Thermal Power Project (BgTPP) NTPC, Salakati, Kokrajhar would be commissioned by March, 2017 with supplying power services in the state. Speaking the reporters at NTPC complex at Salakati in Kokrajhar today, Utpal Chakraborty, Group General Manager, BgTPP NTPC said that the Unit I of the project was commissioned by June 25 in 2015 with successful power supply in the project.
