Body recovered

A body identified as Jadav Kisku,45, was recovered from Pakriguri village under Salakati police outpost this morning in Kokrajhar. It was suspected that Kisku was severely beaten to death by unidentified miscreants late last night in the area,police said.

Meanwhile, unknown miscreants torched a  hut, bound to open an election sub committee office at Kaliphukri last night under Kokrajhar PS.

Wild elephant found dead

Kokrjajhar: An wild elephant reportdly found dead at Ultapani under Haltugaon forest division in Kokrajhar district on Monday. A team of forest officials led by Ultapani Range Dhiren Basumatary rushed to the spot and recovered the body from area. Body of the elephant has been sent for postmortem. Reason of the elephant death was not known so far. 

Road mishap kills 1,left 4 injuries

Kokrajhar:  An woman died and four others injuried in a road mishap at Dotma Gwmwbili area in Kokrajhar district on Friday evening. Injuried were admitted to Kokrajhar RNB civil hospital.  According to eye witness, the woman died and serveral others sustained serious injuries following head on collision with an auto tempo and a bike coming from opposite directions. The persons who received injuries were boarded on the auto tempo, were on the way for Tulsibill Aminkata after attending NRC hearing in Kokrajhar. Bathou Mahasabha session begins

Kokrajhar: An intellectual meet was organised at Bodofa Cultural complex in Kokrajhar in Tuesday in connection with the celebration of 26th foundation day of the Dularai Bathou Mahasabha. The day celebration began with two day programme, organised by Dularai Bathou Mahasabha and delegates from different districts across the state. Rajya Sabha MP Biswajit Daimary attended the meet. He emphasized on uplifting of Bathou religious tradition among Bodos.  Devotee and followers of Bathou religion participated in the celebration. 

Tchoukball tournament begins in Kokrajhar

Kokrajhar: All kinds of preparations are so far completed at Karigaon Jwhwlao Dwimalu ground in Kokrajhar to organise ther All Assam Biki Alchiary and Sansuma Kungur Basumatary memorial Tchoukball Tournament-2018 and Bwisagu Bidai Pwrbw(Bihu Bidai) which has been scheduled from May 14 with two-day colourful programme scheduled. AAMSU stages sit in silent dharna in Kokrajhar

Rape accused arrested

The incident was took place at Santinagar(Ward No. 2) near Kokrajhar Circuit House on Wednesday evening.  According to family members, the inciden came into light when victim minor expressed her pain in urine and was reveles to her monther. Family members admitted to Kokrajhar RNB civil hospital for medical test as well treatment.   Following the FIR against incident, police arrested the accused in the evening.
