BPF to score 100%: Hagrama

Bodoland Peoples Front(BPF) president Hagrama Mohilary,who is also BTC chief has been claimed of that his party is winning in all 13 contesting seats all over the BTAD region,besides the BJP-BPF-AGP alliance party is forming government at Dispur. 

Mohilary,on Saturday while addressing the reporters at a Press Conference held at BPF party office in Kokrajhar said that the campaigning to the second phase of Assam assembly election scheduled to be held on April 11 was concluded and his party leader,workers and well-wishers expressed their well-gesture of party strength and gaining mass supports among common citizens. 

 

'My BPF party is winning cent percent seats where party candidates are contesting in 13 constituencies. BJP led alliance party have been doing well intact among society as well across the state,so government formation in the state and Congress party would be rooted from government,because all sections of communities are supporting the BJP-BPF-AGP alliance party in both phases of the assembly polls', Mohilary said.

Bijoy Krishna Handique no more

Bijoy Krishna Handique,  former union minister and Congress leader from Assam died at the Jorhat medical college on Sunday. He was suffering from respiratory ailments and admitted to the hospital Saturday evening. 

The only son of late Krishna Kanta Handique, the famous scholar and founding Vice Chancellor of the Gauhati University, Handique represented the Jorhat Lok Sabha constituency for six consecutive terms since 1991. Handique held several portfolios in the union government. He was also a member of Rajya Sabha from 1980 to 1985.

Chief Minister Tarun Gogoi who visited the Jorhat Medical College on Saturday has led the state in condoling the death of Handique.

MP promises 50 lakhs aid

Rajya Sabha MP Biswajit Daimary has promised of 50 lakhs to the Bodoland University to meet infrastructural development in the university.

Daimary while attending the 20th Foundation Day celebration of Bodoland University announced his promise to extend Rs.50 lakhs from MPLAD fund for healthy development aspects.He said that anounce fund would be released soon after receiving feasibility proposal from university.He said that BTAD administration was stressing to gain developmental aspect and educational environmental in the region.

Continuing his scathing attack on Prime Minister Narendra Modi, KMSS leader Akhil Gogoi charged BJP and RSS with trying to foment communal trouble in Assam to strike electoral advantages.

Addressing a press conference in Guwahati on Monday, Gogoi said that Modi who talked much did precious little. "I thank the people of Bihar of rejecting Modi and his party," said Gogoi a day after BJP was decimated in Bihar assembly polls.
