UN Academy shines in HSSLC

Two students from Upendra National (UN) Academy, Kokrajhar scripted highest marks in History and Bodo subject in today’s declared HS results, besides the Academy scored 100% pass percentage both in Arts and Science stream while Science College, Kokrajhar also scored 98.33% pass percentage in the HS final examination.

The Kokrajhar district recorded overall pass percentage in Science 85.32%, Commerce 52.00 % and Arts 68.81% respectively. Winner Basumatary of UN Academy, who hailed from remote Santipur area of Chirang district passed in Arts with first division scoring highest marks in History over all in Assam along with star marks in Education subject. He scored 98 marks out of 100 in History and brought laurels to the school. Khwrwmsat Brahma, who hails from Dotma Boragari also passed HS examination in first division in Science stream scoring highest 92 marks in Bodo from the school, which brought double laurels for the school. The school has scripted 100% pass percentage in both Arts and Science streams creating success of the teaching career among Bodo medium.

A total of 110 students appeared in the examination, among them 63 passed in first and 47 in second divisions along with three star marks in Science stream. In Arts stream, all 151 appeared passed with 85 in first, 64 in second and two in third division along 13 star marks in the examination.

Krishna Gopal Basumatary,Director the UN Academy hailed the achievement brought to the school this year with highest marks in Bodo and History respectively. We had a dreamt to achieve grand success of the result, though we had not spotted in top ten, but received highest marks this year in two subjects making topper in scoring marks.

‘The school this year created strong recognized that the UN Academy can produce huge brilliant students through guiding deep dedication. We were trying to give better and better results with giving peoples’ welfare and integration among society’, Basumatary added.

Winner Basumatary, who scored highest marks in History subject, said that he will keep his eyes to be civil servant in days to coming to serve common masses. He thanked his parent and teachers, who were extended inspiration to the success of getting highest marks in his life career. Ananda Basumatary, father of Winner Basumatary also become overwhelming after getting information of scoring highest marks from the school. He thanked god as well teachers who guided his son to achieve this result. ‘I do hope his son’s aim in life and expectation would be met successful step in near future’, he added.

Altogether 118 students passed out of 120 appeared in Science College which recorded 98.33% pass percentage with 78 in first, 38 in second and two in third division along with 16 star marks.

S Chakraborty, vice principal of Science College expressed pleasure overall results recorded of 98.33% pass percentage in the college. We were working to make better results in coming days, she added.

KOKRAHAR: A sense of alarm has gripped the Jharbari area after a timber smuggler was discovered dead in a firing incident during the early hours of the morning in Kokrajhar.
