Timber seized

Forest department official seized 26 pieces of Sal timber logs along the Gongia River at Balanga bazaar, which were illegally brought by smugglers today morning under Dotma PS in Kokrajhar district.

According to sources, the timbers were rescued following forest department official and local publics jointly initiated step against smuggling under the direction of Forest Minister Pramila Rani Brahma late last night and seized this morning. The market value of the seized timbers would be over 2 lakhs. The timbers were brought through Gongia River by smugglers from Kachugaon forest division, said a senior forest official.

Footballer Apurna Narzary to receive Emerging Player award in Bodoland Territorial Region

Apurna Narzary, an international women's football player, has been nominated for the Emerging Player award for 2022-23 by the Sports & Youth Welfare department of the government of Bodoland Territorial Region (BTR). Narzary has represented India in several international events and is the daughter of Biswajit Narzary of Khagrabari village in Kokrajhar district. The award will be presented to her during the Baokhungri festival celebration at Baokhungri Hill site near Harinaguri in Kokrajhar. ISPL 2022: Bodoland lifts trophy

Bodoland Territorial Region (BTR) team won the trophy defeating Lai Autonomous Council (LADC) of Mizoram 1-0 in the final match of inter sixth schedule premier league -2022 being held at SAI SAG center,Kathalguri Titaguri in Kokrajhar district.
