Preparations to observe I-Day in Chirang

The Chirang district administration is all set to observe the ensuing Independence Day in a befitting manner. 

As instructed by the state government, it has already chalked out to celebrate the day with various programmes in three days from August 13 to 15. As per the programme, a Yoga display at Kajalgaon market shed followed by cleanliness and plantation drive at JSB Hospital, illumination of office buildings and debate competition at Kajalgaon High School among the students will be held on August 13. A half marathon, with the theme "Run for Unity" will also be organised on August 14. Like the preceding years, the main programme of the celebration of Independence Day  which is to be held centrally at Kajalgaon fistrict parade ground on August 15 will start with the playing of prabhat pheri. This will be followed by hoisting of National flag in all residential buildings, govt- semi govt offices, educational institutions etc, processions of school and college students to the parade ground, Swahid Tarpon by VIP, hoisting of National flag centrally by the VIP, parade, cultural programme, distribution of awards, grants in aid,  friendly football match between DC-XI Vs SP-XI etc.

The Deputy Commissioner Rupak Kr. Mazumder has requested all the people of the district irrespective of caste and creed to be present in the programme so as to make it a grand success.
