Student unfurls flag in Kokrajhar

A Government school in Kokrajhar set a record on Monday when a girl student hoisted the tricolor in presence of her teacher and class mates on the occasion of the 70th Independence Day.

She was none other than Nabajyoti Basumatary, who acting on the advice of the teachers unfurled the flag before singing the national anthem. The school along with many others across the country received the instruction from the Government.

Talking to Assam Times, the teachers said, "this time our school witnessed that national flag was hoisted by a student under advice from government. We celebrate the day with befitting manner where teacher and students participated and enjoyed national freedom moment."
