NDFB-S cadre held

Security forces belonging to Assam Police and Army arrested, at a join operation arrested a cadre of NDFB-S from Patabari area under Runikhata PS in Chirang district on Wednesday . The cadre was identified as Swmkhwr Kaklary alias K Saiklom. An Insus riffle, magazine and 60 live rounds recovered from  him.

Road safety week in Kokrajhar

Kokrajhar: Along with rest of the state, the 29th National Road Safety week was organised in Kokrajhar on Sunday. Kokrajhar Police administration organised the road safety week to create awareness about driving of vehicles as well road management. A vehicle rally was carried out in Kokrajhar town, beginning from Kokrajhar police station complex in which several vehicles participated and distributed leaflets among citizens.  Kokrajhar PS officer in-charge Binanda Basumatary inaugurated the rally in the presence of police jawan, VDP men and drivers. NDFB-S cadre held with three linkmen

Kokrajhar: Security forces apprehended an NDFB-S rebel along with three linkmen from Kalbari near Salbari in Baksa district on Friday.  Acting on an input about presence about militant cadres along the Kalbari area in Baksa district, a joint team of army and police launched a search operation where the rebel was apprehend along with three linkmen and recovered arms from their possession. The rebel was identified as Erenga Kampa alis B Bwrai. The linkmen are Deepok Basumatary, Lahit Goyary and Bikrom Brahma. A pistol, seven rounds of ammunition and three handmade grenades were recovered from their possession.

Kokrajhar:  The Rongjali Bwisagu celebration is going on with pomp and festive fervor in Kokrajhar as the Bohag month is today entered 8th day on Sunday.  Priya Brahma of Bishmuri in Kokrajhar has been crowned Bwisagi Khungri in the Rongjali Bwisagu Pwrbw organised in Kokrajhar. Tchoukball tourney from May 14

Kokrajhar: Preparations are going on in full swing to hold the second All Assam Biki Alchiary and Sansuma Kungur Basumatary memorial Tchoukball tournament-2018 beginning from May 14 next with two day programme scheduled in Kokrajhar.  The tournament has been organised by Assam Tchoukball Assam to hunt sporting talents in the state. Pramila condemns rape- murder incidents

Kokrajhar: Assam forest minister Pramila Rani Brahma strongly condemned steep rise in the rape and murder incidents across the state and advocates strong measures to deal with these. In an exclusive interview to Assam Times in Kokrajhar, she supported the new set of laws to check the crimes against women across the country. She has demanded stern actions against rape and murder convicts. . She further hoped that BPF will get at least two more berths in the expanded cabinet of Sarbananda Sonowal.
