Mosquito net distributed in Kokrajhar

Kokrajhar Madhav Deputy Commissioner Prasad Sarma inaugurated ceremonial distribution of mosquito net among flood affected villagers under Community Development Project (CDP) at a programme held at New Amguri in Kokrajhar district on Saturday. Belivers Church Diocese of Bongaigaon has been initiating to distribute 15,000 mosquito net among 300 villages of Kokrajhar,Chirang and Baksa district,who were severely flood affected in the region. Over 5000 beneficiaries of Kokrajar district would be getting mosquito nets under the projects of which 3500 mosquito nets distributed. Sarma said, ‘Mosquito Net is a very important amenity in our living healthily. We must use it before go to bed and can protect our self and our family dear once from many possible sicknesses. Having mosquito net is not only sufficient but to have awareness in using it is the much needed massage for today especially in rural areas inhabitant.

‘It is an appreciated venture initiated from church to extend needy peoples.This kind of facility providing among society would be benefitted to gain social integration and social development’, Sarma added.

County has witnessed phenomenal rainfall this year and it has also brought with it diseases like viral fever, Malaria, Dengue and Typhoid etc. with a motive to safeguard families from these dreadful diseases during this season Believers Church has started a nationwide Mosquito Net distribution campaign as a part of its community development program.The initiative has been taken by Believers Church led by Dr. K.P. Yohannan , the Metropolitan of the church to distribute mass mosquito net is indeed laudable and worthy of praise.

Rev.Fr. Ajay Tulsiary, Vicar General of Believers Church Bongaigaon Diocese told that that they will distribute 15,000 mosquito nets as their campaign as part of the Community Development Project in following months nearly covering 300 villages in Kokrajhar, Chirang and Baksa districts.

“Our aim is not only supplying a mosquito net but also bringing awareness of its importance in using. It is sad people dying just because lack this basic amentias and awareness’, Tulsiary said. Beneficiaries extended their gratitude to the organizers for extending mosquito net in the remote citizens said that it is a good noble venture initiated for the social welfare in the region.

KOKRAHAR: A sense of alarm has gripped the Jharbari area after a timber smuggler was discovered dead in a firing incident during the early hours of the morning in Kokrajhar.
