Dr Madan Mohan Reddy, senior consultant on orthopedic surgery from Apollo Hospitals, Chennai attended the 'Evening with a Doctor' program on Saturday (26 November 2016) at Guwahati Press Club (GPC). Over 25 GPC member-journalists along with their relatives participated in the evening OPD and got free consultations on various ailments like back-neck- knee pain, major fractures, arthritis etc. Apollo’s marketing officer Roopjyoti Baruah assisted in conducting the camp.
The next evening clinic on 3 December at GPC premises will be attended by eye specialists Dr Subhra Kinkor Goswami & Dr Bijuli Goswami of Sight First. The camp will begin at 4 pm and continue till 6 pm for the benefit of GPC member-journalists.

In a major embarrassment for Congress in Assam, police have grilled former Assam welfare minister Akon Bora on Friday in connection with a multi crore scam.A team of anti corruption cell questioned Bora for a couple of hours at the Rupnagar based office in Guwahati from 11 in the morning. He was interrogated in connection with the huge Rs 200 crore scam in the department when he was holding the social welfare portfolio.
