The Shukapa Diwas was observed asAsom Divas at Basic Training Centre in Kokrajhar district on Saturday. The programme was organized by Kokrajhar district administration to mark the observation.
Dr LR Bishnoi, ADGP (BTAD) lighted the lamp to inaugurate the observation and offered floral tribute to Shukapa on the occasion.Bishnoi said that Shukapa had contributed to the integration of the state.
Bibekananda Choudhury, Deputy Commissioner, Kokrajhar, Rajen Singh, SP, Arun Kumar Borgoyary, noted writer were attended the function and paid homage to Shukapa.
Choudhury said that Shukapa contributed a lot toward uplift of Assam since his entry into Assam.Assam government has been observing the day asAsom Diwas to recall his contribution and dedications for the state. Kokrajhar district also recall Shukapa on this occasion,Choudhury added.

KOKRAHAR: A sense of alarm has gripped the Jharbari area after a timber smuggler was discovered dead in a firing incident during the early hours of the morning in Kokrajhar. The incident occurred along ride no. 1 under the Jharbari range of the Haltugaon forest division in Kokrajhar district, where the smuggler was fatally shot while transporting logs on a cycle from deep within the forest.

Apurna Narzary, an international women's football player, has been nominated for the Emerging Player award for 2022-23 by the Sports & Youth Welfare department of the government of Bodoland Territorial Region (BTR).
