Athletics meet concludes at SSG

The Closing Ceremony of the Annual Athletics Meet of Sainik School Goalpara ( SSG)  for the session 2016-17 was held on 23 Dec 16 at the school athletics ground. The event commenced with the finals of 800m, 100m, 400m, 4x100m relay and 4x 400 m relay. In addition to the delighted cadets who were fighting for their House positions, a large number of parents cheered the athletes and their children who were striving for medals. The parents also witnessed a spectacular band display by SSG Band and a smart march past and aerobics display by junior cadets.

Dr Nripen Kumar Dutta, Founder and Principal of Miles Bronson Residential School, Guwahati graced the ceremony as the Chief Guest. He awarded medals to the winners and congratulated them on their success. Capt (IN) Edwin Jothirajan, the Principal, felicitated the Chief Guest. Lohit House clinched the championship in senior division whereas Eklavya House and Bhaskar House lifted the trophies in junior and sub-junior division respectively.

On completion of the Closing Ceremony, a Parents Meet was held in the school auditorium. The meeting was followed by an interactive session with parents.
