A hectic preparation is in full swing to celebrate Happy Domashi Pwrbw(Bhogali Bihu) at Kanthalguri Udangshri Club ground under Shukanjhora VCDC in Kokrajhar district along with rest of the state.

Peoples from all walks of life come out to join hands in the preparation of Domashi and construction of Domashi hut and Maihung( Bhealghar and Mezi). Women folk of Kanthalguri and its adjoining area villages take their dance rehearsals with traditional Bodo attires ahead few days of the Domashi Pwrbw celebration.

Villagers also arranged installation for preparation of some fome food items during the celebration with locally found rices,which included rice cake,laru,shitao etc.

‘Domashi Pwrbw is a celebration with festivities of Bodos during Magh month after hard work in summer season.In this festivity sesaon,we take rice product light food items,sweets which are made of gum rices’,a senior villager of Kanthalguri said.He also said that peoples enjoy the season with song and musics which has been traditionally coming among Bodo community.

KOKRAJHAR: The police nabbed three people with 91 Kgs of Ganja on Karigaon national highway in Kokrajhar on Wednesday.. Hagrama Mohilary, BPF chief, released on bail

BPF chief Hagrama Mohilary was granted bail on Saturday and released against case CR 34/2020, accused of section 120-B/500 IPC from CJM court in Kokrajhar. Pramod Boro, the president of the United People’s Party of Luwahati, filed a complaint against  Mohilary, the former chief of Bodoland Territorial Council, at the court of CJM Kokrajhar for making derogatory remarks about him in February 2020. The bail was granted by Kokrajhar's chief judicial magistrate.

KOKRAJHAR: Two people were killed on the spot in a late-night road accident in Balajan Pakriguri under Kokrajhar police station. According to police, two people were travelling on a bike and met with mishaps that claimed two people on the spot at a roadside parking dumper in Pakriguri along JD Road late at night around 2.15 am on Tuesday night under Kokrajhar police station. Kokrajhar: The first ever edition of the All Assam Prize Money Non-Ranking Badminton Championship-2021 concluded on Tuesday after a two-day programme was scheduled to be held at the indoor stadium of the Kokrajhar District Sports Association (KDSA) in Kokrajhar district. Lightning kills 3 in Chirang

At least three persons died and several others received injuries due to the lightning struck at Anthaibari under Bengtol police outpost in Chirang district on Wednesday afternoon. According to the source, three persons have died and several other people from Anthaibari area received serious injuries due to heavy lightning this afternoon while people were watching a football match at Anthaibari playground. Kokrajhar Planetarium and Science Centre has been disconnected from electricity supply due to non payment of bills

Electricity to the Kokrajhar Planetarium and Science center was cut off because there's an outstanding bill of 1.83 lakh. Due to power cutoff, the Kokrajhar Planetarium and Science centre is currently not functional. Bodo Harimu Afad observes 30th Foundation Day
