Kokrajhar is all set to celebrate 15th Bodoland Day to mark the 15 years glorious step of the BTC Accord Day on Friday at BTC Secretariat ground Bodofa Nwgwr in Kokrajhar. Chief Minister Sarbananda Sonowal is attending as chief guest on the occasion.
All kinds of preparations have completed so far by this evening to celebrate the Bodoland Day. Security deployment has also completed to the celebration besides deployment of security forces in the region. Main pandal has been prepared with fully decorated and over 20 chairs are arranged for the public and invited VIP, VVIPs on the occasion.
Chief Minister Sonowal will land at SAI ground by 10.30 am by helicopter and then attending open meeting by 11 am to the celebration.
Deepak Vohra, special advisor to Prime Ministe Lesotho and Guinea-Bissau,special advisor Ladak autnomous hills development council of Leh and Kargil, BTC chief Hagrama Mohilary, deputy chief Kampa Borgoyary and host of dignitaries will also grace the occasion.
A cultural programme has also been organized where noted singers from Bombay as well state are performing.
The BTC authority will felicitated award winning writers, sports persons and artists who brought laurels to the region through their works. Two important awards- Promod Chandra Brahma literary, 2015 and Nileswar Brahma Cultural Award will also be presented.
BTC executive members Doneswar Goyary and Rajib Brahma told the reporters that the preparations completed with fully prepared. ‘We hope that around 50,000 publics are thronging the occasion from different districts of the council’,they said.
Rajen Singh,SP Kokrajhar said adequate security measures in and around has been taken to thwart any untowards incident. He said extra force, officers have already arrived in Kokajhar to see the smooth function of the programme ahead of chief minister visits.
‘Security forces are deployed in the occasion venue along sensitive areas in the region to make vigil security measures during CM visiting on the celebration’,Singh added.
The 64th annual conference and literary festival of the Bodo Sahitya Sabha concluded on January 13 at Dwimu Nwgwr, Dimakuchi, in Udalguri district after a vibrant four-day celebration. Assam cabinet minister Pijush Hazarika attended as the chief guest, representing Chief Minister Dr. Himanta Biswa Sarma, while Pramod Boro, CEM of Bodoland Territorial Region (BTR), inaugurated the event. The event attracted delegates from Assam, Nepal, Bangladesh, West Bengal, Meghalaya, and Nagaland, alongside representatives from various districts of Assam.
