Assam chief minister Sarbananda Sonowal is on a visit to New Delhi amid the speculation of his preparedness to expand his cabinet.
Sources told Assam Times in the capital that Sonowal is meeting prime minister Narendra Modi and party president Amit Shah for discussing the cabinet expansion.
Modi and Shah are expected to approve the list of the new ministers which comprise five from BJP along with two each from AGP and BPF.
The expansion was on the cards after January 15. But simmering discontent in AGP and BPF regarding more cabinet berths forced Sonowal to keep it pending and started the budget session which will be over by March 15.
