Four people were charred to death and 25 others injured sustained injury when their houses caught fire which oozed from a gas tanker in Golaghat district on Tuesday.
The incident took place on Tuesday early morning in Rangoliting village beside the National Highway 37 where the fire erupted from gas leakage to ravage 20 roadside houses.
Bimal Bhuyan, his wife and daughter were charred to death after they were trapped inside the house. One of their neighbours succumbed to injury on the way to the Jorhat Medical College and Hospital.
Later experts from the Numaligarh Refinery Limited (NRL) came and brought the situation under control.
