2nd Rajiv Gandhi Memorial Football begins

The 2nd Rajiv Gandhi Memorial Prize Money Football tournament organized Guwahati City District Youth Congress began today at the at SAI field Paltan Bazar in Guwahati . The inaugural match was played between Narkasur Jyoti Sangha and Guwahati SAI. All together eight teams have consented to join the tournament namely Guwahati SAI, Narakasur Jyoti Sangha, Nilachal Football Club, Star Sporting, Sporting Union, Jewel Star, Rising Eleven and Chandmari Sporting Club.

Assam Pradesh Youth Congress President Pijush Hazarika officially flagged off the game in presence of soccer lovers and office bearers of APYC state and Guwahati city committee. Earlier floral tribute was paid to the late former Prime Minister Rajiv Gandhi in whose memory the tournament has been organized.

The final match will be played on 20th Aug at 2pm. Amount of the prize money was not disclosed today
