Mohilary lays 21 foundation stones

As many as 21 foundation stones were lay by BTC chief Hagrama Mohilary at different places on Tuesday itself in the presence of official and publics in Dhubri and Kokrajhar districts to pave way more development and integration in the region.

BTC administration has been getting 1000 crores from centre as one time special grant for the financial 2017-18 through which council has been initiating new more developmental projects to gain more projects in four districts in the region. A total of 21 new projects have been ventured in Kokrajhar district itself under one time special grant to construct various projects in education,culture,Bathou Thansali,river protection, college building,crematorium, district libraries etc.

Mohilary started laying foundation stone to construction of RCC Padmashri Pratima Baruah Pandey memorial complex at Gauripur in Dhubri in the morning in the presence of official and huge public gathering.He has also laid foundation stones at various places which included construction of district library building at Kazigaon,construction of college bulding at Tipkai Junior College, construction of district library building and construction of B Ed College at Gossaigaon, improvement of road from Bhawraguri to Sapatgram,construction of district library at Dimalgaon in Kokrajhar, construction of Boy’s hostel at Bineswar Brahma Engineering College at Chandrapara,construction of Bodoland Trade Centre in Kokrajhar near Gaurang River, construction of Bathou traditional & cultural centre at Baganshali in Kokrajhar and construction of Law College in Kokrajhar.

The Bathou traditional & cultural centre at Baganshali would be constructed under onetime special grant from centre in Kokrajhar. The Bathou traditional centre is a project of Bathou devotees which is facilitating to worship Lord Bwrai Bathou with its own centre in Kokrajhar, said a Bathou devotee.

Mohilary told that the BTC administration has been taking more new projects in the region with centre’s 1000 crore onetime special grant. He said that laying of foundation of stones would be done on phase manner in the districts.

‘BTC will be getting more developmental projects in various field through centre’s onetime special grant for the financial year 2017-18’,Mohilary said adding that council region is stressing for bringing more human based developmental among society in the region.

Amid a strict security vigil, arrested Gujrat Congress MLA Jignesh Mevani was brought to Kokrajhar police station and later produced before the chief judicial magistrate (CJM) court. KOKRAJHAR: A Ganja smuggler was shot at by police in the Bishmuri area of Kokrajhar district late Wednesday night. The incident happened  in Kokrajhar in Bishmuri. KOKRAJHAR: The police nabbed three people with 91 Kgs of Ganja on Karigaon national highway in Kokrajhar on Wednesday.. BPF chief Hagrama Mohilary was granted bail on Saturday and released against case CR 34/2020, accused of section 120-B/500 IPC from CJM court in Kokrajhar. Pramod Boro, the president of the United People’s Party of Luwahati, filed a complaint against  Mohilary, the former chief of Bodoland Territorial Council, at the court of CJM Kokrajhar for making derogatory remarks about him in February 2020. The bail was granted by Kokrajhar's chief judicial magistrate.
