Zubeen Garg received death threat in social media when the most popular singer was performing in Dibrugarh on Friday.

A Facebook status warning that the singer would be shot dead from a point blank range went viral in the evening forcing the district authority to step up security in the function were the most popular singer was performing.

The threat was posted in the facebook by some Kai Khaplang alias Tultul Baglary who threatened to shot dead the dinger from.10 metre away from him..

He received the death threat hardly a week after he stepped down from a stage in Guwahati for disallowing to perform in Hindi.

Chopper noselands safely in Nagaon

Altogether 8 people has a miraculous escape from death when the private helicopter carrying them from Guwahati to Itanagar landed safely in Nagaon on Thursday. The incident took place at 10-20 in the morning when the chopper noselanded at Nehrubali in Nagaon town because of a technical snag.  Skyone Airways official confirmed that the chopper developed a technical snag minutes after it departed Guwahati to the capital city of Itanagar with six of its staff and two passengers.

Top rebel held in Karbi Anglong

Security forces claimed to have captured a dreaded Adivasi rebel in Karbi Anglong district on Thursday. Identified as Binod Gowla, the self-styled deputy C-in-C was caught along with one of his assistant from Hatkota in the hills district. According to information, acting on a tip-off, army’s Red Horn Division joined by police carried out a operation in Hatkota where the top rebel was held. A feminine like situation awaits Assam if one goes by the army worms that have been damaging crop lands measuring thousands of hectares in the state. Prez sacks Rajkhowa

Finally, the Centre has removed JP Rajkhowa as Arunachal Pradesh. The move got seal of approval from President Pranab Mukherjee on Monday evening following Union home minister Raj Nath Singh confirmed the NDA Government’s displeasure with the former Assam Chief Secretary. Sanitary napkin destroyer machine

For the benefit of lady member-scribes of Guwahati Press Club (GPC), a sanitary napkin destroyer machine was launched on Friday (9 September 2016) in the club premises.
