Indoor shooting range inaugurated in Kokrajhar

Happy news for the people interested in shooting sports. The 10m indoor shooting range was formally inaugurated today at SP office complex in Kokrajhar district.

BTC chief Hagrama Mohilary  inaugurated the indoor shooting range in Kokrajhar in the presence of Pallav Bhattacharya, president of Assam Rifle and Shooting Association and Additional DGP, Rajya Sabha MP Biswajit Daimary and other dignitaries.

The 10m indoor shooting range is for air rifle and air pistol with seven lanes. The air conditioned range has been constructed as per the technical specifications of International Shooting Sports Federation (ISSF). The targets, shooting tables, light conditions of the shooting area/target etc have been prepared as per the Olympic standards.

The BTC chief said his council will extend all possible help in the smooth running of the shooting range. He urged the young talent to make best possible use of the training.

Speaking on the occasion, Bhattacharya said the Kokrajhar shooting range will provide a platform for the budding shooters of this region in the promotion of shooting sports.

Kokrajhar SP Rajen Singh who was instrument behind the budding of the shooting range said in the next phase the target system will be replaced with the new and latest electronic targets for the better training.
