Assam talents crack UPSC exam

At least thirteen talents have fetched huge pride for Assam when they cracked the civil service examination, 2016 conducted by the Union Public Service Commission which announced the results on Wednesday.

Swapnil Khare ranks 43 while Dibakar Nath has been ranked in 254th position. Kapinjal Kumar Sarma bags 507 position while Seuj Kumar Saikia gets 677th position followed by Dipankar Gogoi who is ranked in 816th.

Tapan Deka has been ranked in 859 along with Dipjoy Das in the same position. Mamoni Doley has been ranked in 928 followed by Bidisha Chinte and Yoshodhara Das, Abhijit Pegu, Bandana Deori and Montu Swargiary.

GUWAHATI: Three minor boys met watery grave as they were playing in the outskirt of Guwahati sending a huge shockwave across the state on Wednesday. The incident took place at Rampur gaon in Palashbari where the trio went to a pond to swim and play who drowned instantly before somebody came to their rescue. NEW DELHI: The Joint Parliamentary Committee set up to study the issues centering around the Citizenship (Amendment) Bill, 2016 has rescheduled the April 12 hearing for the organizations from Assam in New Delhi to April 17. Kokrajhar: The BTC authority has suspended principal in-charge of Ramfalbil HS school Susil Kumar Basumatary for alleged involvement in the mid day meal and bicycle distribution scam. Basumatary received the order of his immediate suspension on Tuesday charging him with deliberately doing anomalies in the distribution of bicycles for the students. 'Basumatary has been involved with irregularities in implementation of MDM and some other school functions as prescribed from the concern department. TEZPUR: The Dibrugarh police probing the APSC scam arrested DTO Prasenjit Ghose on Monday. Ghose, whom the government recently transferred from Guwahati to Tezpur for his alleged involvement in the coal scam was picked from his office in the morning. He is being brought to Guwahati to be interrogated by the investigators who have so far arrested 35 ACS, APS and allied service officers in this connection. LAKHIMPUR: Yet another girl was kidnapped and gangraped before being dumped on the roadside in Lakhimpur sending shock and anger across the state on Monday. The gory incident took place on Sunday evening in Naoboisa area where the minor girl was believed to have been forcibly picked up from the road to be gangraped by five miscreants at night.
