Tight security to avert I-Day strike

Watertight security is back across Assam since only a few days are left for the Independence Day. Army, police and para military forces are fanning in the nook and corner of the north eastern state to restrict the insurgents who have been trying to disrupt the celebration of the red letter day.

Vital roads and bridges, rail and bus heads, oil and gas installations are being heavily guarded to avert any attempt of the disruptive forces like ULFA(I) and NDFB (S).

Similar beefed up security arrangement is in sight at the district and sub divisional headquarters across the state where ministers, MLAs and top officials are unfurling the national tricolor in the morning to be followed by the march pasts.

Intelligence inputs suggest any orgy of crude attempt by the rebel outfits to disrupt the celebration forcing the authority to tighten security measures during the Independence Day celebrations.
