AASU stages road blockade

Hundreds of students blocked the roads in Tangla on Monday opposing English as a medium in major courses in colleges under Bodoland University, demanding probe into the alleged anomalies in B.Ed admission of R.C Sahariah Teachers’ Training College  and opposing 4 model degree colleges named after Deendayal Upadhaya in BTAD areas.
Addressing the mammoth gathering  AASU Assistant General Secretary Jayanta Bhattacharjya said that by making English as a medium of instruction compulsory in major subjects in colleges under Bodoland University is a conspiracy to kill the Assamese language.

He said,” the Students would seek admission in English medium schools making way for the diminishing the vernacular schools and the Assamese language.
