Statehood day greetings

Nagaland chief minister TR Zeliang have wished the people on the occasion of the statehood day.

In a message issued here on Thursday, Zeliang said,”The second President of India Dr. S Radhakrishnan formally declared Nagaland as the 16th State under the Indian Union at Kohima Local Ground on December 1, 1963 which is an extraordinary day in the political history of Nagaland. Today, as we celebrate Nagaland Statehood, I appeal to the citizens of Nagaland to join hands to make Nagaland a great and prosperous State.”

“I also take this opportunity to welcome the President of India, Ram Nath Kovind to the ‘Land of Festivals’ and ‘Falcon Capital of the World,” said Zeliang.

Acharya stresses peace through sports

The Village sports meet in Nagaland concluded on Saturday after Governor P B Acharya stressed peaceful co-existence through games and sports.In his speech as the chief guest during the closing ceremony he said sports meet was a good example of unity in diversity. NSCN-K warns politicians

Amid the confabulation of the Naga peace move, NSCN (K) has asked a section of ministers and MLAs to refrain from forcing them to toe the line of a particular political party. In a recent statement, the outfit alleged that a circle of political leaders have been helping the Centre impose ban on them and put the outfit in a fix.   According to NSCN-K, the critical juncture where they are perilously confronting two international powers on both ends, choosing to combat the NSCN by these unholy cohorts is extremely unfortunate.

Nagaland Chief Minister T.R Zeliang officially launched Beti Bachao Beti Padhao(BBBP) at his residential office in Kohima on Tuesday. In his address he said,”with the world moving towards a more equitable and inclusive society, Nagaland cannot afford to be left behind.
