BJP MLA takes on Tarun Gogoi

GUWAHATI: A BJP legislator takes on Tarun Gogoi on Tuesday charging the former chief minister with protecting Himanta Biswa Sarma who was allegedly involved in a number of scams.

He is none other than Piyush Hazarika, the Jagiroad MLA who moved the police with a complaint against Gogoi alleging that he protected Himanta Biswa Sarma even after he came to know that his senior cabinet colleague was involved in the multi crore scam.

Hazarika, who shifted to BJP from Congress two years back lodged the complaint against Gogoi a couple of days after the three time chief minister confessed to have deliberately shielded Sarma even after knowing his corruption.
