GUWAHATI: Assam and Meghalaya are bracing up for moonsoon well ahead of time this year if the weathermen are to be believed.
March in both the north eastern states has fetched a good amount of rainfall. The situation is more or less was same in Arunachal Pradesh and Nagaland.
Assam and Meghalaya have bathed in moderate to light rainfalls during the last 24 hours and it is expected to continue till the first week of April.
According to reports, Dhubri recorded 32.6 mm rainfall on Thursday and the rainfall figure during this period in Dima Hasao is 13 mm. Goalpara has 8 mm rainfall during the last 24 hours with 10.8 mm in Kokrjhar. Golaghat and Dibrugarh witnessed 3.8 mm and 5.5 mm respectively.
The weather system is expected to continue in the northeastern states which is why the overall scenario is likely to remain unchaged during the next couple of days.
