Hojai civic body chief, aide axed

HOJAI: Assam BJP unit has expelled two leaders of the Hojai Municipality Board alleging anti party activities triggering no less crises in the civic body.
In a letter circulated on April 5, 2018, party general secretary Dilip Saikia said HMB chairperson Mamata Dey and Vice chairman Samir Sarkar have been expelled for involving in the anti party activities.
The duo faced the action after the consent from state party president Ranjit Kumar Das. Now the party is in process to find out their substitutes.

Boy drowns

Body of 14 years old Sumit Baspor S/O Sambhu Baspor and resident of Harijan Colony rescued on Saturday Morning. As per information, Sumit got drowned in Dimru river in Hojai on Friday eevening, while he along with  three others  went for the immersion of the idol of Lord Ganesha. Twenty-year-old boy brutally murdered

In a sensational incident, one Ramanand Bora (20) was killed by his neighbour at Dakhin Bidyanagar in Hojai on Friday night. As per information, neighbour Deepak Rajkhowa repeatedly stabbed Ramanand with a sharp weapon.
