Bodoland University gets new VC
Kokrajhar: Bodoland University (BU), a premier educational institution in BTAD region gets new Vice Chancelore on its administrative working. Prof Laishram Ladusingh joined as voice chancelore on the Bodoland University on February 25 last and has been rendering services for the ushering of the university. On the other hand, Bodoland Students Union (BSU) offered warm welcome to the new VC and felicitated with traditional Aronai art university office chamber on Monday.
The Bodoland University was created under the spirit of BTC accord(2003) to facilitate higher educational environment in the region. Earlier, it was set up Kokrajhar Campus of Guwahati University in 1997.Later,it was upgraded to Bodoland University by the state government to provide healthy education arena among the society.
Prof Ladusingh has emphasised to build healthy educational environment in the university among student community.He said that the process to accord 12B status for the university is goingon and expected the status is to be granted early through the proper official system. He has claimed that infrastructures of the university is taking place on progress besides appointments of the professors are going to get fulfilment in the university by the July August next. He said that the university has been emphasized to bring skill oriented management courses to offer skill development training among students so that they can have self development as well job profess careers in their life.
He informed that due to non availing of professor's appointments in the university, the 12B status was not granted in the university.
Prof Ladusingh told that university administration was working for the quarter educational environments. He said that he will try to bring better educational aspectations with quality education in coming days.
Meanwhile,a ten member delegation team from the BSU has welcomed the newly joined VC, Prof Ladusingh and wished healthy educational environment in coming days. The students union urged the university administration to initiate more educational activities in comong days.

Altogether 36 students were expelled for taking unfair means in Monday’s mathematics examination in the HSLC examination in Kokrajhar district. The examination has been conducted in a strict discipline manner in the district of Kokrajhar at 25 centres. The Assam police force is well prepared to thwart any disruptive strike by JMB which is believed to have been trying to make its presence felt in the state. Local residents in Chitila seized many teak logs brought yo be smuggled outside on Friday wee hours.
