BJP says the north eastern region needs a security council to deal with the issues like infiltration and insurgency.
Addressing a poll meeting in Tripura on Saturday, the party president Rajnath Singh said its the party's demand to ensure better safety and security in the region. He hoped that the security panel will be able to reduce the level of infiltration from across Bangladesh and Myanmar.
He said both insurgency and infiltration problems should be firmly dealt with adding that if voted to power his party accord priority to fencing of all borders with Myanmar and Bangladesh as in the west on the Indo-Pak border.
Taking a dig at the Mizo National Front led by Zoramthanga and Congress led by Lalthanhawla, the BJP president said these parties had ruled Mizoram for decades where corruption has become the order of the day.
