A major blast was averted in Sivasagar district as police and army recovered a huge quantity of explosive materials from Buhubar area on Sunday. These explosive materials were recovered from a rented house of one Moinuddin Haque at Bihubar area in Gelekey. These materials were recovered four days after the arrest one Niajuddin Talukdar known as the brother in law of Moinuddin.
Moinuddin Haque is a driver by profession who stays. On November 12 his brother in law Niajuddin was arrested by army and police with explosives near Naginimara in Sivasagar. Then he was on his way from Ladrimby in Meghalaya to Sivasagar. On the basis of his statement the Simaluguri police and Army’s 581 Light Regiment and the Jawans of 37th Assam rifles conducted a joint operation at the backyard of Moibuddin’s rented house and recovered the huge amount of explosive materials These include 2 kgs of powerful explosive materials along with 26 electronic detonators and 50 metre long cortex wire.
