Kaliabor MP Gaurav Gogoi may lead the Congress party from the front in the upcoming Assam assembly elections. Such speculation is brewing as the young MP has been seen active in public speare since yesterday, which was normally associated with other senior Congress leaders like Ripun Bora, Prodyut Bordoloi, among others.
On Sunday, when PM Narendra Modi addressed a rally in Dhekiajuli, Gaurav participated a press conference and raised some issues which are likely to take place in the Congress manifesto for the upcoming elections. Not only that he said that he hoped for a joint rally with Akhil Gogoi and Lurinjyoti Gogoi, who happen to be the presidents of the Raijor Dal and the AJP respectively.
Likewise, the Congress MP on Monday also spoke to media and said that his party would make an assesment to understand the basic problems of the people of Assam.
“We will go to people and want to talk to them. We will try to understand their problems. Later, we discuss these at our election-committee meeting,” he said.
Political analysts believe that Gaurav would lead the Grand Old party from the front in the upcoming assembly elections and form a grand alliance.
