Scam 2019 Teaser Released, Promises a Thrilling Ride

Guwahati: The much-anticipated web series, "Scam 2019," unveiled its official teaser recently. The event, graced by popular actor Jatin Bora, also saw the presence of Maytrayee Goswami, Yankee Parasar, Aabhijeet Sharma, RK, Dhrubajyoti Talukdar, and Manik Roy.

Producer Aabhijeet Sharma expressed excitement about the teaser release, announcing that the official trailer will be out on November 24th, coinciding with the 24th anniversary of Assam Public Works (APW). The series itself is slated for a December 24th release on the 18+ OTT platform, Red Cinemas 18+.

Red Cinemas 18+, the region's first 18+ Assamese OTT platform, will stream the series with multilingual subtitles, targeting both regional and international audiences, including Bangladesh and the Middle East. The series will be available at a nominal fee of Rs 69/-.

"Scam 2019" is a fictional web series that delves into the story of a corrupt officer who, tasked with preserving a community's identity and culture, becomes embroiled in a massive scam. This scam not only leads to financial loss but also triggers a multi-faceted crisis affecting the state's physical, emotional, and cultural fabric.

The series boasts a stellar cast, including Jatin Bora, Bibhuti Bhushan Hazarika, Maytrayee Goswami, Manik Roy, Yankee Parasar, Bhabesh Das, Arsana Pujari, and RK. The directorial reins are held by RK, with Aabhijeet Sharma as the story writer and producer. Bhaskar Deka has penned the screenplay and dialogues, while Bitul Das handles cinematography, Jhulan Krishna Mahanta the editing, and Rideep Das the music.

Assamese feature film Kothanodi (The River of Fables) has been selected by the Asian Cinema Fund, South Korea, for its Post Production Grant 2015. This is the first time that an Assamese film has been selected for the prestigious grant, and Kothanodi is only the second film from India to receive this honour in the history of the Grant.
