GUWAHATI: For the first time in the history of Assam, the state government tabled an e-budget for 2018-19 in the assembly on Monday. RIMA VUSHUM AIAZWL: Finally the Centre steps in to mend the widening differences between Assam and Mizoram amid an escalating tension along the inter state border. The home ministry has asked both the north eastern state to ensure peace along the border area a week after a group of Mizo students clashed with Assam Police. In an order, the Centre has asked for reports from both Dispur and Aiazwl detailing about the incidents along woit the measures to defuse the tension. KARIMGANJ: In a bid to deescalate the tension along the Assam-Mizoram border, the Mizoram government has proposed a fence mending talks with the Assam counterpart saying it to be the best possible way. In a letter addressed to Dispur, Mizoram Chief Secretary Arvind Ray proposed a talk between the deputy commissioners of Kolasib and Halakandi within this week. RAJESH MANDALDHEKIAJULI: The Dhekiajuli police have arrested a 23 year old youth from Moinajuli area two weeks after he raped a minor girl in the area who has been undergoing treatment at Tezpur Medical College and Hospital in Tezpur.
