Two policemen died when DHD(J) rebels sprayed a goods train with bullets in North Cachar hills district on Saturday. According to information, the incident took place at Langting at around 7-30 in the morning as the Silchar bound good train reached the area. The deceased were identified as Lalita Burahgohain and Bisheswar Bora. Caught in this situation, the North East Frontier railway authorities have cancelled all trains on this route.
It may be noted that the rebels, fighting for a separate Dimasaland have threatened to blow up railway bridges soon. The incident took place a day after the militants attacked a passenger train leaving one CRPF jawan dead near Wadringdisa.
