BSNL young engineer's staged half-day dhrana

The young engineer’s of BSNL under their flag-ship banner of AIGETOA (All India Graduate Engineer’s Telecom Officer Association)staged half-day pre-lunch hour dharna on 31st July’09 as part of nation-wide 45 days program. The 6July-18 August’09 long program is centered around their various demands failing which they will start “operation sacrifice- death before dishonor” wef 18 august’09 onwards at BSNL corporate office under last stage of program. In today’s program at BSNL Assam Telecom Circle office at pan Bazar more than three dozen engineers took part from almost many SSA of Assam Telecom and allied service areas i.e; ETR( Eastern Telecom Region), NETF( North East Task Force) etc.

Their demands includes immediate absorption of ‘guest-policy makers’ belonging to ITS cadre as they are not taking any interest in over-all development of BSNL and merely passing time with their respective Govt. of India tags. Instead, a full-hearted approach is need of the hour not only to fight against Pvt. Telcos, but for growth oppurtunities of this Govt. PSU in totality. Today BSNL losses is multiplying everydays, but nobody cares as top management is giving deaf-ear on long pending issues. The services are badly affected due to negligence at every nook and corner of the company. The HR policy, transfer rule, mis-managed EPF scheme, pay anomaly of 2005 batch Executives recruited directly in BSNL etc are major issues, which need to be solved, AIGETOA members laments.

Initially, their schedule includes wearing black-badges on work up-to 31st July. Now, their public awareness campaign begins wef 1st August’09 throughout the nation and from all over the country their members will reach New Delhi BSNL corporate office on 18th Aug’09 morning as concluding part of their ongoing agitational program.

These ITS officers are the main cause of downfall of the huge company. They are eating BSNL from all directions and BSNL profit is decreasing sharply.
