At least 12 persons were killed and 30 others injured in an indiscriminate firing by the banned National Democratic Front of Bodoland (NDFB) militants at Bhiumajuli in Bihali Reserve Forest area in Sonitpur district on Sunday. According to information, heavily armed militants belonging to the RaNJAN DAIMARY faction of the Voro rebel outfit came to the spot on Sunday evening and started to fire targeting some shops. The militants earlier served extortion notices only to be denied by the villagers. Immediately after the firing, the militants left the spot leaving 11 persons dead on the spot.The injured have been rushed to nearby civil hospitals at Biswanath Chariali and Tezpur. Police and Para-military forced have started a massive combing operation in and around the spot of incident to apprehend the culprits.But There is no report ofany arrest.

3. Like many tribes in Africa, many hill tribes have taken up Christianity and Western lifestyles, but still xenophobic in mental set-up
4. Christianity has not been able to bring in 'Universal Peace and Brotherhood', it has just expanded the base of Christians which is the objective of the Pope in Vatican city.
5. Highly Racist in social order...fellow countrymen need Inner Line Permits (ILP) in hill states even when they have gone up much higher in all ranks in the national level. Students from NE hill states are moving out to study in Delhi. Students from Delhi will never come to such xenophobic towns where racism rules the roost.
6. Highly consumerist societies, no productivity, not self-reliant in food, clothes or anything else. Still talks about 'seperate lands'.

I would like to respond to Dorika's comment. His/her observations are partially true. But I would suggest him/her to read more on the issue and then give judgements.
Sensation prevails on the busy Guwahati-Shillong road following bomb scare that forces senior police and civil officials to rush to Ganeshguri. According to eyewitness, two doubtful youths were seen trying to plant a bomb under the Ganeshguri Flyover but managed to flee as soon as they saw policemen on the spot. Noted Gandhian Anna Hazare's civil society group seeks immediate release of two Akhil Gogoi who was arrestred by poliucxe on Friday. He further has demanded an apology from the Assam government for arresting the KMSS leader. NDFB’s pro talks faction threatens to pull out of the peace process if the Centre fails to halt operation against their cadres. Guwahati Press Club has expressed its anguish at the arrest of RTI activist Akhil Gogoi from its campus on June 24 at around 2.50 pm. It has already sent a protest letter to the Chief Minister Tarun Gogoi, stated in a release issued by press club secretary Nava Thakuria. Finally, police have arrested KMSS leader Akhil Gogoi in connection with the Dispur police firing on Wednesday. Gogoi was picked up by police from his Nizorapara based residence an hour before a press conference he was scheduled to addressed.
Police on Thursday lodged complaint against Gogoi and his associates charging them with damaging properties worth crores of rupees and fomenting trouble where 4 persons were killed around 35 including 15 police men have been injured. The Centre on Thursday has extended the term of ceasefire with NDFB by months. This was followed by a meeting of home ministry officials with a delegation of the Bodo insurgent outfit Govinda Basumatary in Delhi on Thursday. Dispur police station alone has registered altogether 8 cases against Gogoi and KMSS president Kamal Medhi charging them with damaging properties worth Rs 1.50 crore. Dispur police officer in charge Manik Kalita has lodged the 4 complaints against Gogoi while ASTC also filed 3 FIRs alleging that Gogoi and his organization has damaged 3 buses on Wednesday. Gogoi is likely to be arrested at any time. Several police officers including senior superintendent of police Dipak Chaudhury, DSP Longnit Teron have been injured in the clash.
