Deepawali is more commercial than religious now

The modernization of our society has greater influence on daily life, which can easily be reflected in way our festivals are turning into commercial events rather its religious-cultural effect in totality. The forthcoming Deepawali is more or less associated with burning earthen lights with oil with the aim to enlighten not only our own house but full neighborhood for at least one night, but it was earlier replaced by wax candles and now electrical multi-colored lights are taking place everywhere. It is scientifically known that the burning of earthen lights filled with oil is not only purified the surroundings, but it kills the seasonal insects too and this is one reason why mosquitoes menace is lesser post Deepawali night !

The life of many workers who used to make earthen pots are affected too as they are finding very few customers in the market buying it customarily for Goddess Laxmi- Lord Ganesh puja purpose only and rest of the house either illuminated with candles or lamps. So, naturally the traditional pots maker is having difficult days ahead surviving on their old-age arts of making goods from soil and sand mixed. This is the prime reason mostly now are busy in either idol making or adopting alternate way to survive.
