Purbanchal Prahari celebrating 21 years of Journalism


The 1st ever Hindi newspaper by G L Publications, Guwahati is going to celebrate its 21st Anniversary on May 16 and on this occassion its readers will have a special colour supplement as gift to mark Hindi journalism movement in this North-Eastern State.


According to press release issued by the publication house, it has started its journey from Assam capital Guwahati on May 16, 1989 and with the support of Hindi loving readership till date continues its movement to spread journalism on social, political, economical as well as overall development of local issues.

The people of Nagaon recently witnessed a cultural evening on Sunday, July 19, which is purely an extravaganza offering mix of song, music, dance and play i.e; a complete cultural show encashing all form of arts in one. The evening was dedicated to Bangla poet Rabindra Nath Tagore and Assamia literature icon Bishnu Prasad Rabha on the occasion of their birth anniversaries. Most of the roads connecting Nagaon with Jagi Road, Dimapur, Tezpur are in such a dire state that travelling through these are becoming to be real nightmare for citizens. The condition of NH, SH as well as inner roads in the city is dipplated so much that two-wheeler riders are mostly who are suffering injury on account of it. The state of road in front of Sadar Thana can be eye-opener for all of us as police-men inspects vehilce in front of big pocket-holed patches in front of police station itself. But, they seldom do anything besides regular routine cheking of vehicles,because untill the road causes an accident, they are not responsible!!! On the other hand repairing of roads...
