Youth Seminar in Meghalaya

Centre for Civil Society is organising I, Society and Public Policy, a national level youth seminar at Siloam, Umsaw Khwan, Umsaw, Ri-Bhoi, Meghalaya from 7 to 10 October.ISPP Seminar, previously known as Liberty & Society Seminar is organised by the Centre for Civil Society (CCS), a non-profit public policy think-tank based in New Delhi.

This four-day residential national seminar for the youth (18-25 years) is a first step towards a freer India where students are exposed to vital social and economic issues. The Seminarchallenges students to think about causes and solutions for major problems affecting India, including poverty, illiteracy, poor governance, degrading environment and uses a participatory method including lectures by experts, group discussions, documentaries and field research. ISPP seminars ultimately aim to develop critical thinkers and future leaders in all walks of life e.g. academia, industry, government, arts and literature with liberal values and ideals.

The Seminar provides students with a unique opportunity to interact closely with eminent speakers. We have been successful in bringing some very sought after scholars in the past like Christopher Lingle, Swaminathan Aiyar, Ajay Maken, Shankar Acharya, Naushad Forbes, Gurcharan Das, Ashok V Desai, Premila N. Satyanand, S. Narayan, Vikram Kapoor, Parth J. Shah, Raj Cherubal and many more.

CCS has organized Fifty Five such seminars since 1998 creating over thousands of new thinkers. A whole generation of new thinkers, with great appreciation for the importance of economic freedom in building a better and prosperous society, is ready to take their rightful place in society.
