62nd Republic Day celebrated at Udalguri with gaiety

The 62nd Republic Day has been celebrated with gaiety at the Parade Ground of DC’s Office, Udalguri.Rihon Daimari,Minister, PHE, Assam hoisted the tricolour in presence nearly four thousand people.He offered floral tribute to the statue of the Father of the Nation at Gandhi Smriti before inspecting guard of honour.Thaneswar Malakar, Deputy Commissioner;Udalguri,Debojit Deuri, SP, Udalguri;Col.Sunil Upadhaya,Commanding officer 315 Field Regiment (Kargil), Pratap Singh Thakur,Deputy Commandant SSB ;senior citizens of the district along with other distinguished guest and students attended the Republic Day celebration.The 23rd SSB, DEF, Udalguri, Assam Home Guard, various Scouts & Guides from different schools participated in the March-Past. Various departments of the district like Agriculture, Sericulture, Fishery., A.H.&Vety., Udalguri Dev. Block, Health Dept., DRDA etc. participated in a manner of tabloo to show their activities. Agriculture Dept. hold the first position, where as A.H.&Vety Dept and Udalguri development Block holds the 2nd and 3rd position respectively.

As a part of the celebration, District Level Award for Excellence in Public Service, Public Security, Child Scientist and Agriculture were awarded to Bhakta Chetry,Principal,Ramswaroop Agarwalla Memorial School,Udalguri;Pratap Singh Thakur,Dy.Commandant of 23rd Bn.SSB, Bhairabkunda; Upamanyoo Das,child scientist,Kalaigaon and Baneswar Boro,model farmer of Vill.Gormarah respectively.A Poetry collection named “Roudra Kamana” was formally inaugurated by the Hon’ble Minister, published by the District Administration, Udalguri.An exhibition was arranged to display weaponary by the 315 Field Regiment (Kargil).Students from various school of Udalguri displayed a few spectacular science models to much delight of the people.
