voter awareness campaign failed to make impact on Dr.Manmohan Singh, Prim Minister of India, as he did not cast vote here. What do you expect from general public? Though he later on said that he has casted vote throuh Postal Ballot, he had to give the explanation due to report in the media fearing criticism- one feel.

Civilian hurt in Nagaon police firing

Two persons sustained serious injury when security forces sprang upon a group of people who spilled into the streets defying lock down at Barbazar area in Nagaon town on Friday. Sonowal wants extension of lockdown

GUWAHATI: Chief Minister Sarbananda Sonowal said that he has urged the Centre to allow the state to continue the lock down by 2 more weeks. Addressing a press conference in Guwahati on Friday, Sonowal said that many areas in the state are still vulnerable. He further said that the extended lockdown period would help them contain the possible outbreak of more such cases following the arival of thousands of people who were remaining stranded outside the state.
